Ultra South Africa brings a good time and MXD brings the vibe. Together? It’s a full takeover. Electric crowds. Ice-cold flavour in hand. This isn’t just a partnership; it’s us running the experience from the ground up. When the music lifts, MXD lifts higher. When the bass drops, we’re right there with it.
If you’re outside, be outside properly.

MXD Presents The Ultra South Africa Countdown #PerfectlyMXD DJ Search Tour
The submissions are in, the decks are set, and the search for the next DJ ready to shake the stage at Ultra South Africa has entered the judging phase. After an incredible response from across the country, our panel is now locking in the finalists who will take the spotlight in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.

Five finalists have officially been selected for Johannesburg, with Cape Town and Durban announcements dropping soon. Each city will host a live DJ Search event where finalists will perform for their shot at the ultimate prize — a chance to play on one of South Africa’s biggest stages.

Catch the DJ Search live in your city:

  • Johannesburg — 20 March
  • Cape Town — 27 March
  • Durban — 1 April

This isn’t just a mix anymore. This is the moment where the best rise, the crowd decides, and the next name in the culture takes the stage.

My stage name is MAD BRAUL. I'm a DJ & aspiring producer who began this journey driven by a passion for Tech House & Afro House/Tech.
I started DJ-ing on a phone using an app, learning the basics & through that I developed skills through consistent practice, timing, & track selection. My DJ journey so far has been shaped by networking & connecting with people in the industry. I've been inspired by artists like James Hype and Black Coffee. Black Coffee's journey shows how staying true to your sound and culture can take you worldwide. Through that I have a clear vision of breaking into clubs and bigger stages.
